THE domestic football season will be allowed to continue after a strike by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) ended.
The RFEF reversed the decision to suspend all matches after a week, following a High Court ruled that the strike over televisions rights was unlawful.
Barcelona can now win La Liga on Sunday if they manage to beat current champions Atletico Madrid. Likew
ise, the Copa del Rey final will also go ahead as planned on May 30.
The RFEF initially decided to strike after the government approved a law on April 30 which only rewarded the RFEF 4.5% of all revenue from televisions rights.
Currently all clubs negotiate rights individually, a policy which hugely favours Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The federation said that the legislation ‘has not resolved any of the problems gravely affecting soccer’ and as a result, called an ‘indefinite strike’.Previous articleLa Venus beach in Marbella first in Spain to get brand new life-saving equipmentNext articleReopening of controversial Los Frailes mine cancelled amid corruption scandal
